About the Facility:
A premier equestrian facility located at the one of the most historic equine venues on Texas. With a rapidly growing Hunter/Jumper program they also offer lessons in Western riding and Polo. Their facility boasts 20 beloved lesson horses and over 40 boarded horses and a team of dedicated professionals including four assistant instructors and a full time barn/office manager. They pride themselves on providing exceptional instruction and fostering a positive collaborative environment for riders and staff alike. With Great Southwest Equestrian Center in their backyard there is no need to travel all over the country to reach the best of the best Hunter Jumper shows in the SouthCentral USA. Developing the sports next equine generation should be the primary focus of our ideal candidate for the Lead Hunter/Jumper Trainer. Our current head trainer has decided that it is time to wind down a bit and we are looking to fill her very big shoes in the late spring/summer of 2025. We are not in a rush to find a match but rather find the right person equestrian and personality for this dynamic and energetic team.
Job Description:
We are beginning a search for an experienced motivated and hardworking Hunter/Jumper Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about mentoring riders and associate trainers takes initiative and is eager to contribute to the growth and success of our program. This role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant teamoriented environment. While you will have clients that show at the top levels of Texas Hunter/Jumper events your focus will be based on developing the next generation of true horsemen and women fostering community and living a more laidback lifestyle while mostly home yearround. You will assist in the unification and team building of a wide variety of assistants staff and horse owners and assist overseeing the care of a herd of beloved lesson and lease horses as well as a group of boarded equines. Heres the REALLY cool part! This facility has an office team that handles the business side of things! You dont have to think twice about scheduling bookkeeping management technology logistics contracts or record keeping. Your main focus is to develop riders teach lessons be a great team player and an even better leader and mentor to young equestrians and athletes. AND you get a work life balance! What the heck! 5day work week with consideration for your time and effort towards other projects and events. Like we touched on before though this isnt a typical A show Lead Trainer Role. This is a personality and teamwork first with a more homebased career path. We are looking for someone who just loves to teach and working with some fabulous people. Someone who doesnt want the chaos of running your own equine operation or working for a mega H/J show facility any longer.
Requirements:
Strong Understanding of the H/J Market and Teaching through 36 Level
Confident Upper Level Hunter/Jumper Rider
Active and Dynamic Instructor that Prioritizes Horsemanship
Enjoys Being Part of a Team
Ready to Enjoy a 5 Day Work Week and Less Business Operational Duties
