The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized professional and results oriented individual to serve as a Child Welfare Specialist. Under general supervision of the team supervisor performs experienced professional child welfare support services for children and youth who run away are missing or have been abducted; staffs the Help Line for a specific shift and takes calls of notification of missing children; provides information to law enforcement National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and other appropriate entities; receives or obtains information for after hour medical and psychiatric consents for youth; receives calls from youth who are missing and provides information about returning. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and focused on ensuring the safety of children and youth.
