As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Risk Technology Engineering & Architecture team you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted marketleading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problemsolving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams contractors and vendors
- Develops secure and highquality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design application functionality and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a functionwide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks tools and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decisionmakers to consider the use and application of leadingedge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience
- Handson practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stability on AWS Azure GCP with focus on services compute & data technologies
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages eg. Java Python C/C C#
- Experience in developing debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages with good overlap of application & DB.
- Experience in data platform data engineering large scale data processing ETL Lake house and experience in micro services API design Kafka Redis MemCached Observability (Datadog Splunk Grafana or similar) Orchestration (Airflow Temporal)
- Proficient in SQL and in one or more DBMS: Oracle PostgreSQL Sybase MongoDB Cassandra CockroachDB MySQL Couchbase DynamoDB
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.
- Knowledge in financial services industry is preferred
- Exposure with AWS cloud is preferred
