Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer will be responsibleforassisting in the management and organization of a companys CAD component library ensuring accuracy and accessibility of design elements by creating updating and maintaining standardized CAD parts symbols and footprints while adhering to established design standards and collaborating with engineers to support project needs;typically reporting to a Library Administrator or Library Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Library Manager and team members as it is requested to create components based on engineering requirements.
  • Research and identify components that meet specifications and performance.
  • Possess some technical expertise in reading schematics drawings and datasheets.
  • Organize and categorize library components using a structured file system to facilitate easy retrieval.
  • Adherent to industry standards and regulations (IPC RoHS JEDEC REACH UL).
  • Assist Librarian Manager to create and maintain component library databases schematic symbols and component land patterns.
  • Design and create accurate footprints/Cells for various electronic components considering factors like package type pin spacing and manufacturing tolerances.
  • Develop schematic symbols that accurately represent component behavior and pin connections.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of component libraries identifying and correcting errors.
  • Collaborate with PCB designers engineers and manufacturing teams to address componentrelated issues.
  • Execute on schedules for part creation requests and Library creation process.
  • Develop and adhere to construction and task schedules.
  • Knowledge about various soldering processes e.g. Wave Soldering SMT Reflow soldering etc.
  • Experience in IEEE standards for schematic symbol creation PCB Library Creation as per IPC SM7351.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The electronics industry is constantly evolving so staying updated with new components and technologies is essential.
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical issues with limited or no supervision.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant or technical subject
  • 13 years of experience into any ECAD design software
  • BSEE or equivalent
  • Siemens EDM Mentor Graphics design capture and Mentor Graphics VX2.4 or higher printed circuit design CAD experience preferred.
