Description
This is a temporary position. Candidates must be located in Eastern Time Zone.

Corporate Financial Accounting (CFA) is a headquarterbased accounting department responsible for the accounting and reporting relating to Marriotts investment development joint venture foreign exchange debt Environment Social and Governance (ESG) and international banking activities.

As a member of the Corporate Financial Accounting Team the FLEX Director will partner with the Senior Director ESG Accounting and Controls and other Marriott colleaguesto execute various financial and operational management processes that support financial and ESG operational business objectives including playing an integral role in the design and application of new processes and controls to support ESG reporting and compliance. The FLEX Director will be responsible for will be responsible for creating accounting processes for the responsible areas to meet all internal control U.S. GAAP and international reporting requirements while also allowing for the flexibility to accommodate evolving future business needs.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Develop strong trusting relationships with Global Finance HR Engineering Continent Legal and other stakeholders and disciplines
  • Develop deep understanding of risk and controls and ESG SEC and international statutory reporting rules.
  • Partner with various teams to design and implement ESG reporting processes and controls
  • Drive cross functional collaboration as needed
  • Maintain documentation as needed and ensure the established process is communicated to the impacted teams and executed effectively
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning new and emerging ESG reporting frameworks
  • Support preparation of ESG related disclosures subject to controls attestation and validation by externalauditors
  • Participate in and lead ESGrelated steering or leadership committees asneeded
  • Maintain appropriate industry expertise and technical knowledge and communicate effectively to partners in nontechnical language

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Key Talents and Experience

  • Excellent PC skills proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of accounting (U.S. GAAP) and auditing principles required
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) internal control framework required
  • High degree of initiative personal responsibility and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills required
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to identify issues recommend solutions and implement resolutions
  • Ability to build and maintain key relationships and to coordinate with other departments
  • Customerservice oriented perspective and an effective listener
  • Must be a selfstarter capable of identifying needs/requirements and taking independent action

Education and Professional Certification

  • Bachelors degree required (Accounting/ Finance major preferred)
  • CPA a preferred or working towards CPA licensure
  • Minimum 7 years experience with some in Audit preferably a blend of both Public Accounting and Industry Exposure

The pay range for this position is $56.58 to $83.08 per hour.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
