Job Description

Accounting & HR Associate

Are you an accounting professional looking for a new opportunity in a collaborative and supportive work environment Our client a well-established and growing engineering and contracting consulting firm with over 20 years of experience and locations across the U.S. is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & HR Associate to join their team.

In this role youll support day-to-day accounting transactions and assist with HR processes to help ensure a smooth positive experience for new hires. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both numbers and people and who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering accurate high-quality work.

The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of accounting principles exceptional attention to detail and a proactive team-oriented mindset. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources and work closely with their fractional accounting firm.

Our client offers a casual supportive workplace culture where employees and clients are genuinely valued. This is an hourly full-time role based at their Jacksonville headquarters with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Set up and maintain customer employee and vendor accounts in systems including Sage Co-Advantage and timekeeping platform.
  • Support HR functions by managing new hire documentation assisting with onboarding tasks and ensuring all required forms are completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform a variety of accounting functions including data entry bank and credit card reconciliation billing accounts receivable and general bookkeeping.
  • Assist with day-to-day office operations and provide cross-functional support where needed.
  • Navigate multiple systems and platforms confidently; proactively research solutions troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively with internal teams vendors and accounting partner.
  • Thrive in a flexible role that requires adaptability independent problem-solving and a proactive approach to learning and navigating new tasks or challenges.

What Were Looking For:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in accounting; prior experience in a construction office is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HR processes especially new hire onboarding and documentation is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the full accounting cycle with hands-on experience in billing reconciliations and bookkeeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; able to work with spreadsheets and perform reporting or reconciliation tasks.
  • Experience with construction-specific accounting software is strongly preferred.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
