Description:
The Sample Logistics Supervisor will perform various office and clinical duties to ensure that all sample shipments for QPS MO run efficiently and according to study protocols and the sites SOP. This position will be responsible for all sample shipments for each QPS MO location Mt.Vernon Campus Screening Department and Cell Gene Therapy department. This position will act as our sample shipment liaison for all studies. This position will work directly with sample shipment team members and additional QPS staff members qualified for sample shipments. This position will also ensure that these individuals are properly trained and delegated for sample shipments and ensure all required materials for shipments are properly acquired.
This position offers a fulltime schedule that will be primarily days MonFri. It may include potential periodic evenings or weekends.
Responsibilities:
- IATA certified (on the job training provided)
- Oversee the whole shipping process to ensure all shipping procedures and techniques used follow internal standard operating procedures clinical operations procedures study protocols and IATA guidelines.
- Coordinate with sponsors and couriers to ensure all sample and kit shipments are properly scheduled with the requested courier service per the study guidelines.
- Ensure all sample and kit shipments are tracked from the time of pickup to the time of delivery to the final destination and this is properly documented.
- Maintain ability to work effectively with other people including sponsors participants and other members of the QPS team.
- Using shipping software to organize prioritize and schedule shipment activities.
- Ensures all Shipping procedures and techniques used follow internal standard operating procedures clinical operations procedures study protocols and IATA guidelines.
- Ensure staff are properly trained on the shipping procedures and techniques used following internal standard operating procedures clinical operations procedures study protocols and IATA guidelines.
- Coordinate the processing of samples according to protocol specifications for the QPS Logistics processing studies.
- Setting up accounts as needed with multiple courier companies and continuing good working communication with these companies.
- Protocol / Lab Manual Creation or Review (Provide feedback with any clarifications needed for sample shipments)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent with some experience in an environment requiring confidentiality discretion and attention to detail
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management/supervisor position. Preferably in shipping logistics or warehouse management including supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience with leading of team of 5 or more
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a fast paced detailoriented environment preferred
