Job Title: System Administrator (Remote US Candidates Only)
Job Type: Fulltime Remote
Location: United States (Remote)
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our team. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure ensuring the smooth operation of servers networks and software systems. Your expertise will help optimize system performance and ensure a secure and reliable environment for our team. This is a fully remote position open only to candidates located in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
Install configure and maintain server infrastructure including hardware software and network resources.
Perform regular system backups and ensure disaster recovery processes are in place.
Monitor system performance identify issues and optimize for speed and efficiency.
Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard company data and prevent unauthorized access.
Provide technical support to internal teams for hardware software and network issues.
Maintain and update system documentation including network diagrams system configurations and troubleshooting guides.
Configure and manage user accounts permissions and security settings.
Ensure that all systems are compliant with relevant industry standards laws and regulations.
Perform software updates patches and upgrades to keep systems up to date.
Collaborate with other IT staff on complex issues and system improvements.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware software and network issues.
Provide oncall support and participate in the rotation for afterhours system monitoring and maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
1 year of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT support role.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Linux macOS) and server administration.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware HyperV Docker etc..
Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP DNS DHCP etc. and tools.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud).
Proficiency with system monitoring tools (Nagios Zabbix etc. and performance analysis.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide efficient solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to nontechnical users.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
IT certifications such as CompTIA Server Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC).
Experience with automation tools (Ansible Puppet Chef etc..
Familiarity with Active Directory LDAP and system authentication processes.
Knowledge of network security practices and firewalls.
