Job Description
We are looking for a Senior NPI Technologist to join our NPDTeam reporting into NPD Manager.
As a Senior NPI Technologist based in Bodmin you will work across various categories and work closely with the relevant Development Managers as well as other stakeholders. You will manage the factory side of the NPD process from technical product handover through to post launch reviews across all areas of the category.
You will be responsible for and required to undertake the following duties:
- Take ownership of the critical path for all products handed over and progressing past Gate 3
- Document control from factory trials including micro and analytical.
- Assist the site NPD Manager with the development and implementation of best practice ways of working
- Manage EPD trial work proactively suggesting solutions and improvements to the process whilst gaining buy in of the operational product development and technical teams
- Manage the factory process development at the site associated with NPD/EPD projects overseeing or performing factory trials in line with agreed critical paths
- Oversee the specification and artwork process to launch
- Oversee that all appropriate data from factory trials such as yields labour inputs changeovers amendments are captured for product costings.
- Manage the agenda for preproduction / launch days ensuring customer expectations are met and wherever possible exceeded.
- Run & or support with innovation projects
- Act as an ambassador for Pilgrims ensuring professional conduct approach and personal presentation at all times.
Knowledge Skills Experience:
- Be comfortable within a meat environment comfortable to conduct organoleptic assessments/taste panels of meat products (pork beef lamb and poultry)
- Excellent Time Management and organisation
- Experienced and resilient problemsolver
- Keen eye for detail
- HACCP and Food Safety / Hygiene knowledge
- Strong team player
- Excellent IT skills for writing accessing analysing and reporting of data.
- Good working knowledge of excel spreadsheets and formula writing.
- Proven experience driving an exciting food culture that puts our products at the heart of what we do.
Experience/Qualifications
- Degree in food or relevant qualification
- A minimum of 4 years experience in process (NPI) within chilled food environment
- Equivalent transferable experience within Food manufacturing
- Driving Licence
- Meat industry experience an advantage
