Job Description

About ECC:

M W Th 85 Tues 107 F 84. Summer schedule: M W Th 7:30 am 5 pm Tues 9:30 to 7

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 15 with a minimum of $62418 and a midpoint of $83224. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience in alignment with the Colleges compensation philosophy and the current CBA if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty coordinating student recruitment and admissions by guiding students through the enrollment cycle responding to inquiries answering calls assisting walkins organizing campus tours and oncampus events. The role collaborates with the Recruitment and Outreach Services team to meet enrollment goals and provide exceptional student service. Direction is received by the assigned manager

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from fouryear college or university; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  2. Three years experience in admissions student services or related field.
  3. Knowledge of transfer careertechnical ESL and GED/ABE programs the courses students take and how these programs prepare students for transfer and/or employment.
  4. Familiarity with the process from inquiry to enrollment to registration is crucial.
  5. Knowledge of what services are available and how students can access them.
  6. Basic understanding of financial aid application and awarding processes: This includes the Foundation scholarship process and knowledge of scholarship opportunities and associated processes.
  7. Ability to use PC/computer Microsoft Office student information and data management systems and other technologies and college systems.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills organizational skills and effective oral and written communication/public relations skills.
  9. Ability to relate to and work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds including different ages ethnicities educational and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  10. Personal integrity honesty and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Essential Duties:

  1. Meet with students families and community members on campus and remotely to inform them of educational opportunities at ECC.
  2. Advise students of available services and resources at ECC and provide adequate followup to assist them through the enrollment process.
  3. Provide responsive and excellent customer service to students via phone email text chat and inperson walkins ensuring they successfully move through the enrollment process to registration
  4. Provide outreach to students assigned by the supervisor in accordance with department and college protocol.
  5. Develop coordinate and assist with various oncampus recruitment initiatives including events like campus visits Enrolling 101 information sessions and more.
  6. Act as a liaison with the Elgin Community College Foundation Financial Aid college personnel and other entities as assigned by the supervisor.
  7. Collaborate with supervisor and department colleagues to develop service and learning outcomes for recruitment activities.
  8. Create and implement methods to measure performance.
  9. Analyze results and modify practices to promote effective and efficient use of college resources
