JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Campus Recreation is seeking a skilled parttime professional graphic designer. The position is responsible for assisting the creative team with design and production of print and digital materials. A successful candidate will have experience preparing marketing materials including brochures displays social ads fliers and web graphics. Candidates are required to have a thorough understanding of design and typography digital and offset print processes and color systems and must be highly proficient with Mac OS Adobe InDesign Illustrator Acrobat Photoshop and basic Microsoft Office products. This position requires an ability to provide creative design and typographic solutions colorcorrect images and develop interactive and accessible pdfs. The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication skills be able to handle multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines. Familiarity with creating accessible digital documents is a plus. Responsibilities also include tracking projects in various software and maintaining all archives.
The parttime Graphic Designer is responsible for developing innovative ideas with a consistent brand and look for all promotional material which focuses on building engagement with Penn State University Park Students while meeting the universitys marketing requirements. They will assist with curating social media content highlighting programs events services Campus Recreation initiatives and create graphics.
This position reports to the Assistant Director for Campus Recreation who oversees the creative team. Candidates must have either a Bachelors degree and at least two years of professional experience in graphic design or an Associates degree and at least 4 years of professional experience in graphic design.A cover letter resume and link to an online portfolio is required with all applications. This position is 20 hours a week and is fullyremote.
Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness wellness and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200000 sf Intramural Building the McCoy Natatorium the 700acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts the White Building Outdoor Adventures Aquatics Club Sports Fitness and Wellness Programs and Intramural Sports.
