Job Description
Generator Service Engineer
- North West & Midlands
- 3540k OT Bonus Benefits OTE 50k

- Field Based role Driving license required
The successful candidate will have an extensive experience in the field of industrial diesel engines. The primary role of this position is the servicing repairing and overhauling of diesel engines on our own and our customers generating sets.
Duties:
- On site servicing of customer diesel generating sets at locations across the UK.
- Identification and diagnosis of faults and subsequent rectification and testing of equipment.
- The candidate will have a good ability and aptitude to be able to carry out temporary repairs to keep the client operational whilst the correct parts are ordered.
- Dependent upon the site locations the successful candidate may need to work away from home on the odd occasion.
- The company offers a true 24/7 call out service and as such the successful candidate will need to partake in the call out rota.
- As the demands of the business vary it is likely that this candidate will become involved in other aspects of our operations such as generator installation and fabrication work and UPS battery build installations.
Additional Duties:
- Call Out Rota approx. 1 week in 8
- Generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises
- Generator Load Testing
- Generator commissioning
- Generator fault finding
- Basic Generator electrical repairs
- Attendance of Factory Training Courses is mandatory.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Min 5 years experience working in the diesel generator field
- City & Guilds / NVQ in engineering
- Knowledge of a variety of manufacturers equipment
- Manufacturers Training Courses would be an advantage
- Ability to work as a team player and also unsupervised
- Clean Driving Licence
Wish List:
- Served a recognised apprenticeship
- Computer literate word excel plc languages and other software an advantage
- Experience in diesel engine diagnostics
- Experience in UPS systems
- Happy to multitask
- Can Do Attitude
