Job Description
About the role:
The Samsara AI team builds endtoend ML applications to power intelligent experiences at Samsara. As a Machine Learning Engineer you will be responsible for developing ML and generative AI solutions to enhance the safety efficiency and sustainability of physical operations. You will work closely with science and engineering teams across ML fullstack and firmware as well as crossfunctional partners to deliver core infrastructure applications and services.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada.

In this role you will:
- Lead zerotoone AI initiatives collaborating with crossfunctional teams to develop innovative AI products from scratch.
- Apply cuttingedge technologies including generative AI and LLMs leveraging the latest industry and academic research.
- Design build and optimize ML systems ensuring scalability and efficiency across the endtoend pipeline.
- Champion role model and embed Samsaras cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success Build for the Long Term Adopt a Growth Mindset Be Inclusive Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in one or more common languages (e.g. Python C Golang Java).
- Proficiency with common ML tools and frameworks.
- Proven experience with the E2E ML application development.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with a solid understanding of software development lifecycle processes.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience leading a small crossfunctional team to deliver new ML experiences.
- Experience building zerotoone Generative AI applications.
- A passion for entrepreneurship and a commitment to enhancing the customer experience.
