Responsibilities include transportation of clients and upkeep of agency vehicle(s).
SCOPE OF DUTIES
- Operate agency vehicle(s) in accordance with the NJ State Regulations and Laws.
- Coordinate the daily van schedule with appropriate program staff.
- Pick up furniture/donations deliver mail to and from facilities as well as Administration Office pick up/deliveries may include the removal of the seats from the Van for use in delivering and picking up furniture/donations.
- Transport/escort clients to appointments as needed.
- Monitor clients behavior while in the van. Report problems to appropriate staff.
- Maintain safe and clean operating environment in the van.
- Ensure that appropriate safety restraints are worn at all times by driver of the van and all passengers.
- Ensure all routine maintenance and inspections are complete.
- Maintain records of mileage passengers and trips.
- Maintain road side assistance kit and report to supervisor as required any vehicle maintenance and upkeep needs.
- Ensure the van is cleaned on a routine basis.
- Satisfactory completion of agency Defensive Driving Training within the first three months of date of hire.
- Interact (verbally and nonverbally) with clients staff and community members professionallywith respect and courtesy.
- Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings supervisory conferences and training sessions.

- Regularly required to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
- Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while remain fixed on a given point.
