Are you an experienced Program Manager passionate about advanced manufacturing and cuttingedge technologies The University of Dayton Research Institutes Sustainment Tech Transition division (UDRI STT) is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Program Manager to lead our projects in developing technology to increase the effectiveness of keeping aircraft flying for the USAF. This is a fulltime position at the UDRI campus in Dayton OH. The Advanced Manufacturing Program Manager (PM) supports sustainment programs which include advanced manufacturing technologies such as cold spray repair additive manufacturing engineering and material characterization. The Program Manager also supports nondestructive evaluation quality ISO 9001/AS 9100 certifications cybersecurity digital enabling facility and operations programs. The work will primarily support the Department of Defense and will interact with internal and external stakeholders. Some industrial business may also be supported. Specific work tasks include managing multiple highly technical projects through the application of knowledge skills tools and techniques to meet the requirements for each project. Program Manager activities require that each project is managed through all phases: Initiation Definition and Planning Monitoring and Control and Closure. The Program Manager will ensure that each project assigned is managed to meet requirements for cost schedule performance risk change scope and quality. This position will also support financial objectives by assisting with identifying resources forecasting materials and services preparing an annual budget scheduling expenditures analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. The Program Manager must obtain operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews resolving problems identifying trends determining improvements and managing change. The Program Manager facilitates administrative and technical support for status reviews workshops technical interface meetings and client meetings. It is crucial this candidate have high energy a positive cando attitude be proactive and be a selfstarter with little guidance or oversight. They must excel at networking and keeping all technical teams in sync. The Program Manager provides technical direction guidance and training to junior Project Managers and Assistants supporting the sustainment projects by practicing servant leadership.
1. Bachelors Degree.
2. 6 years experience in project management.
3. Experience in planning organizing and executing technical projects.
4. Experience managing project cost schedule performance scope risk change and quality.
5. Effective written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
6. Successful collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
7. Familiar with compliant rules for ITAR CUI and security classification and DoD files management.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Visio Project).
9. Formal education in project management.
10. Experience with representing the organization as a prime contact on projects.
11. Experience training junior project managers and assistants by practicing servant leadership.
12. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
1. Masters Degree in business project management or related field.
2. Experience managing DoD or Air Force technical projects.
3. Experience with UDRI policies and procedures.
4. Working knowledge of US Air Force policies and procedures.
5. Selfstarter with excellent writing and briefing skills.
6. Experience with creating Integrated Master Plans and Integrated Master Schedules.
7. Project Management Professional certification (PMP) from the PMI Institute.
8. Experience managing government contracts CDRLs deliverables and .
9. Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
