Job Description

The Technical Sales Consultant supports the sale and implementation of selected technical or complex products services and solutions. This role is responsible for displaying a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of our companys products and services and how they integrate into the customers operations consistent with a bundled or solution oriented approach to obtaining new business.

This Role builds customer confidence in our companys technical solutions and addresses all technical objections/concerns from prospective customers throughout the sales cycle. Functional responsibilities may include preproposal discussions with potential customers either in person or via conference call developing a technical sales strategy for customers proposal preparation assistance pricing recommendations and implementation support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides presales technical expertise to the sales team and customers during the sales process. Provides technical input into bid proposals projects and technical documents within the sales process and identifies additional sales opportunities with existing customers.

2. Assists in sales calls by assessing business needs through customer discussions and interactive whiteboarding sessions/meetings

3. Develops and presents technical proposals of how organizations products can meet customer needs and be integrated and implemented with customers systems and equipment.

4. Conducts product/solution demonstrations as required.

5. Prepares and presents customer systems/equipment requirements to Technology Operations Systems and Product Management teams to ensure successful customer integration and implementation of products.

6. Installs and demonstrate the organizations products at customer sites post sale or provides detailed client requirements to the implementation team during handoff.

7. Maintains uptodate and comprehensive knowledge of our own and competitors products and/or services and informs product management of suggested enhancements or changes to our products in order to remain competitive.

8. May support the activities of sales staff at events/trade shows.

Basic Qualifications
Masters degree or equivalent work experience
10 or more years of experience in project management activities

Preferred Skills/Experience
Comprehensive knowledge of assigned business line or functional area
Demonstrated management and leadership skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Advanced knowledge of project management
Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package including incentive and recognition programs equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119765.00 $140900.00 $154990.00
