Headquartered in Houston Texas BWC Terminals is a premier provider of bulk liquid storage and logistics services to refiners manufacturers and distributors of bulk liquids in North America. The Company consists of 22 sites with over twenty million barrels of storage capacity. PURPOSE
This position will enable us to provide 24hour service to both our internal and external customers. By completing the below outlined duties will ensure we capture all required data essential to achieve Operational Excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Below is a list of essential duties of this position. NOTE: Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Provide continual leadership and guidance to all Terminal Operations personnel ensuring correct lineups piping systems safety procedures and operational procedures. Report to the Marine Supervisor as necessary all incidents all safety violations operational errors or inadequate performance by operators. In addition work closely with customers agents and surveyors. Have good understanding and knowledge of terminal operations procedures capabilities and constraints.
- Maintain the scheduling of all marine activity planning of tanks and infrastructure for optimization. Document all tender times. Callin vessels communicate and coordinate with agents surveyors and BWC Terminals (The Company) Operations Supervisor/personnel.
- Manage / coordinate activities by priorities defined in Daily Operations Shift PassOn. Review the Terminal Daily Operations PassOn and assure that conflicts do not exist between Land and Marine operations activities. Report all concerns to your immediate Supervisor. Organize and provide approval of printed OSOs and customer backup information and all marine operations forms and checklists.
- Coordinate schedule and notify all 3rd party surveyors to provide for adequate time to schedule dispatch and arrive at The Company terminal prior to vessel arrival. Minimum twohour notice while expecting surveyors to arrive one hour prior to vessel.
- Calculate document and record stop gauges as required and assure that 3rd party surveyors calculations are accurate. Stop gauges must be agreed to by Dispatcher and Surveyor prior to starting a movement.
- Obtain gauges and temperatures of all active storage tanks for daily inventory by 0000 hours each day.
- Provide a detailed line of communication to your immediate relief dispatcher during shift change. Pass on all information of active tank movements tank under circulation tanks being heated fire wall drains to be monitored any problems that may have been experienced throughout the shift and the Land Operation Supervisor or defined daily work order etc.
- Ensure all documentation is batched and ready prior to vessel arrival to efficiently complete a proper operations check of all plant orders to ensure all piping lineups are verified and ready for Marine vessel loading or unloading.
- Monitor to ensure pump pressures and temperature are in acceptable range and report all information for lineups and twohour monitoring on all tanks that require circulation. Documents all start or stop times pressure and temperatures if applicable. Ensure the operators check all pump and systems for leak detection or pressure loss and immediately secure any system in which a leak is evident. Notify your supervisor for further course of action.
- Confirm with Lead Operator that all tank valves pipelines and systems after each product movement are closed immediately after stopping movement. Ensure all lines are pigged/blown and document pigging times online status sheet. Ensure pigging/blowing operation is documented in the operations logbook.
- Calculate and record hourly rates of all active tank movements. Communicate with Lead Operator to ensure safefill level is not exceeded and/or alert him when tank stop gauge is approaching. Ensure all tanks that are not equipped with an accurate radar reading or Varec gauge system are physically gauged and temperature is recorded.
- Ensure all tanks/railcars receiving steam in preparation for upcoming activity are constantly monitored while being heated. Ensure all tanks that are not equipped with the threelevel thermometer system are physically gauged and temperature is recorded.
- Ensure Boiler Log sheet is completed at least once per shift and properly documented.
- Document record and report all tank gauging and sampling operations with independent surveyors. Assure that during these operations posted gauge heights method of gauging/temperature are performed safely and according to all company policies and procedures. All tanks that are gauged for product movements in which an independent surveyor is involved shall require gauging both by The Company personnel (gauger) and the surveyor. Record these gauges on the daily tank gauge inventory sheet.
- Document report and closely monitor condition of all fire wall drains.
- Monitor the terminals DSC system for inventory control levels tank temperature ranges line circulation activities and pump controls.
- Monitor terminal security cameras and notify the supervisor of any suspicious activity.
- Write maintenance work orders on equipment which requires Maintenance assistance and followup to assure that work gets completed.
- Monitor the status of all inbound and outbound product movements and the status of all maintenance and cleaning operations.
- Assure that all types of activities are passed on to the Marine Operations Supervisor at the end of each day.
- Interact and communicate with clients and coworkers in a professional and appropriate manner and respond to and give feedback in a respectful and positive manner.
- Take the initiative to identify problems use judgment to find appropriate solutions and follow through on resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Support team efforts actively work to generate respect and enthusiasm cooperate with others and actively learn from other team members.
- Reports to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position and willing to perform the duties as workload necessitates. Also become familiar with The Company expectations such as the near miss reporting employee feedback and community outreach.

EDUCATION TRAINING LICENSES MINIMUM EXPERIENCE SKILLS LICENSES AND QUALIFICATIONS

- High School degree or GED.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC Card.
- 35 years terminal operator experience preferred.
- Minimum (on the job training acceptable) experience in equipment maintenance.
- Proficient with using Microsoft suite of products especially Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform basic math read and complete documents and other paperwork as it pertains to non and hazardous chemicals and the transfer handling and storage of same.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to change duties throughout the day and to work with a variety of individuals.
- Ability to interact with others in a professional and appropriate demeanor and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers.
- Ability to work and solve problems independently with general direction from supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The working conditions and environment and the physical requirements/activities listed below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Working Conditions and Environment: While performing the duties of this position the individual is often exposed to a variety of weather conditions including rain and heat/cold noise fumes grease oil noxious odors cleaning chemicals paints glues and solvents. Approximately 80 of the workday is outdoors.
Physical Requirements/Activities: While performing the duties of this position the individual is regularly required to stand walk sit climb and balance on ladders of heights of generally 1560 walk on elevated walkways docks railroad cars roofs and tanks access confined areas/railroad car bottoms carry reach with hands and arms use hands to finger handle feel and use tools and equipment and communicate (talk and hear). This position involves standing bending stooping walking and climbing. Frequently the employee is required to kneel bend crawl crouch push pull lift or twist. Occasionally the employee is required to lift or exert force of more than 50 pounds. Frequently the employee is required to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required is close vision of 20 inches or less and vision ability of greater than 3 feet.
