Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU – UK), degrees are offered in Qatar in partnership with Oryx Universal College (OUC) located in a central location in Doha. We are seeking a motivated team player to join our Admissionsand Student Development Teamwith the scope of developing and growing together with the fastest growing university education provider in the State of Qatar.

The Admissions and Student Development Team is responsible for processing and evaluating all admissions applications, interviewing eligible candidates for short listing and handling the end to end students acceptance process across all programmes offered by OUC in Qatar.

At Oryx, this is not an administrative role.

  • This role requires high level of interpersonal skills, personal development skills and the ability to provide high quality advisory to potential students. The Admissions and Student Development team members are partners of each selected student throughout their education journey, not just till the enrollmentstage.
  • They are responsible to ensure that all applicants are guided to explore various career options, align them with their dreams and make informed decisions regarding their programme and study choices.
  • They also advice and help students to enhance the student experience to ensure that they become contributing future leaders as a student and upon completion of their studies with OUC.

The current team has been instrumental in selecting the best candidates for our programme portfolio and enabling successful academic and personal development of our existing student community as their partners in progress.

The university runs a fully computerised Admissions Management System integrated with the operations and student management platform.

The selected candidate will be expected to fast learn and familiarise with the existing systems.

Key expectations will include contribution to;

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a related role may be an advantage but not essential,
  • Conducting regular meetings with applicants, team members, other stakeholders and internal business units,
  • Doing presentations in various events regarding the programmes and the university,
  • Analyzes and evaluate applications based on selection metrics in alignment with policies and procedures while contributing to develop solutions, programs and policies,
  • Managing and resolving complex applicant scenarios and presenting the case of selected studetns to the Admissions and Recruitment Commitee for final approval for acceptance,
  • Maintaining uptodate in-depth knowledge of policies procedures and compliancerequirements related to student recruitment and other processes,
  • Ensuring compliance to reduce risks and enhance the quality of student recruitment.
  • Expected to work with with various external stakeholders internally and externally,
  • High quality data Entry, filing and information management skills
  • Working closely with management and other team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Assists international students with information and assistance to ensure smooth transition to the Qatar campus,
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure progress in career and enhancement in performance,
  • ProactivelyPerforming other related duties as assignedin a hybrid organizational structure

The candidate must have a Bachelors Degree - Professional qualifications and/or a Masters Degree and relevant work experience would be a definite advantage.
