- Plan a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, facilitation and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, investigate and produce original work.
- Coordinate lesson plans with classroom teachers to maximize possibilities for interdisciplinary and individualized instruction.
- Maintain a classroom environment of respect and rapport.
- Work with students individually, in small groups and in whole class instruction, using a variety of teaching strategies such as discussions, demonstrations and practical applications.
- Assist classroom teachers with planning and supervising class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities, and help guide students in learning from those activities.
- Organize and label materials, and display students' work.
- Actively seek materials and resources to enhance and diversify opportunities for student learning.
