As a Test Cell Operator you will beresponsible foroperating and supporting dynamometer test cellsfor propulsion and driveline systems.This includes working with dynamometer control software tointegratecustomer test requestsperforming testequipment calibrations and executing troubleshooting efforts on test cell equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operating and supporting dynamometer testinginhouse developeddynamometer control software.This includes configuring channel setups and writing automated test scripts among many other items
- Translatingdocuments and conversationsfromcustomersto fullyfunctionaldynamometer test
- Troubleshootingoftesting systemsandcustomerproduct issues
- Collaboratingwith interdisciplinary teams tocreate concepts and deliverablesusedto efficiently complete customer test requests and internalprojects
- Setting up small scale testing equipment including analog sensorselectrical instruments cooling systemsand other customer driven requirements
- Electrical wiringofinternal and external sensors to ourdata acquisition systemand our industrial drive systems
- Calibratingtesting equipment such as torque meters pressure sensors andflow meters
- Test cell operators will not be responsible for any opinions or interpretations ofourcustomer data
- Assist in supporting the UTAC culture and values (Integrity Expertise and Innovation).
- This role is not eligible to participate in the remote work policy
Qualifications :
Education and Skill Requirements:
- 2 years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry required.
- Fluency in the English language is required.
- Strong problem solving strategic thinking and analytical skills required.
- Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits working the hours necessary to perform the job.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees customers and suppliers.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient any systems that we use (Concur Kronos etc..
- Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area.
- Working knowledge of the automotive industry preferred.
- Experience in the vehicle testing and validation industry preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Strong time management multitasking and organization skills.
- Able to function as part of a team with members of varying job levels and work cooperatively toward team goals.
- Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle for traveling between multiple work sites as needed.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Required onsite work as needed per our Remote Work Policy.
- Give and accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner treating all coworkers with dignity and respect.
- Consistently adhere to and support all UTAC policies procedures and safety regulations.
Physical Demands:
- Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noise.
- Regularly required to stand reach bend and move about the facility.
- Able to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned duties.
- Requirements include but are not limited to stand walk sit twist bed life see speak hear.
- May require occasional travel (locally nationally internationally).
