HVP Plantations is a successful privately owned timber plantation operator that manages extensive plantations across Victoria.

The Role

We are seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Officer for a 12month fixedterm contract role with the possibility of extension. The role reports to the Resources Manager and is part of a larger statewide team comprising GIS and forestry professionals.

The role will include both regional and corporate responsibilities. The objectives of the role are to maintain spatial data that describe the plantation estate; to provide GISrelated support training and assistance to GIS users; and to provide GISrelated services to all parts of the business.

HVP have recently made significant upgrades to our spatial systems and services providing the successful applicant the opportunity to work within a modern efficient environment and contribute to projects that leverage this technology.

The ability to secure firefighting skills is preferred but not mandatory.

What do you need

You enjoy working in a team environment and are motivated to improve GIS user experience. You enjoy the challenge of problem solving and developing solutions and welcome change and business process improvement. You take pride in your work and display excellent attention to detail and you are able to balance and prioritise workloads. You have formal GIS qualifications and/or experience in a GIS role.
