Job Description

Position: Clinical Nurse Manager/ Person In Charge

Location: Galway Ireland

Role: Permanent Full Time

Salary: per annum (depending on experience)

Start: ASAP

This organisation provides highquality services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism in Galway City and County. Services include day programmes residential care short breaks community support rehabilitative training and multidisciplinary support. The ethos is to empower individuals with disabilities to lead selfdirected lives in an inclusive society promoting their autonomy health and wellbeing.

Overview of Role
The Person In Charge / Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing personcentred services for adults and children in a care centre ensuring compliance with health regulations and standards. They work closely with senior management to deliver highquality services.

Purpose of Role
Ensure the centre operates in line with:

  • The organisations strategic objectives and core values
  • Organisational policies procedures guidelines and safety standards
  • A rightsbased personcentred environment with regular communication to senior management

Key Duties

  • Lead clinical practice and support nursing and care teams
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Ensure the centre meets care standards and health authority inspections
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and treat individuals with dignity and respect
  • Develop and maintain nursing standards and guidelines
  • Manage the unit under senior management guidance
  • Create a homelike atmosphere and foster respectful relationships

Essential Criteria

  • 3 years in a management or supervisory role in health or social care
  • Registered in the national nursing and midwifery register
  • Relevant management qualification
  • Clinical managerial and administrative capacity
  • Continuous professional development
  • Proven experience in managing residential services
  • Budget management and team leadership skills
  • Report writing care planning and staff roster management experience
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements in the care sector
