What Youll Do

  • Build and troubleshoot an active (amplified) cable plant to simulate DOCSIS 4.0 scenarios to support testing for operators.
  • Develop test scenarios for the cable plant to exercise DOCSIS 4.0 scenarios focusing on multiple profiles on OFDM channels and OFDMA channels to 1.8 GHz including a solution for generating noise that will cause a Core (CMTS) change a modems RF profile.
  • Develop a plan for FDX technology to test sounding and the algoritms to determine multiple Interference Groups on a cable plant.
  • Create simulations of signals going through the amplifier cascade to look at scenarios and measure endofline parameters such as BER MER and EVM as baselines of best performance.
  • Investigate solutions using an Echo Canceller as a Zero Hz diplex filter.

Qualifications

What Is a Must Have

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
  • Familiarity with the use/calibration and programming of lab test equipment such as RF vector spectrum analyzers Network analyzers packet testers signal generators etc.
  • Extensive RF troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with Simulation programs for RF signals and systems to model scenarios especially using OFDM and QAM signals to create models calculating BER MER and EVM.
  • Familiarity and use of MATLAB and Simulink.
