About the Role
At Vogel Law Firm our Bankruptcy & Collections Paralegal plays a vital role in supporting attorneys with case management document preparation and client communication. This position requires a proactive detailoriented professional who thrives on solving problems managing priorities and delivering highquality work in a collaborative environment.
As part of the team youll use advanced legal technologies including Orion NetDocs and legal research tools to support seamless case management. If youre a critical thinker with strong organizational skills and a passion for the legal field we want you on our team!
What Youll Do
As a Bankruptcy & Collections Paralegal you will work closely with attorneys to support the firms bankruptcy and collections practices. Key responsibilities include:
Judgment Enforcement: Prepare postjudgment discovery calculate judgment debts and manage garnishment proceedings levies and executions.
Document Preparation: Draft and file legal documents including settlement agreements construction liens and foreclosure materials ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Foreclosure Support: Assist with foreclosure preparation and manage timelines to meet critical deadlines.
Case Management: Maintain organized case files (physical and electronic) to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
Client Communication: Professionally communicate with clients providing updates and maintaining confidentiality.
Attorney Collaboration: Work with attorneys to prepare for hearings streamline workflows and meet case deadlines.
Additional Support: Perform administrative and legal tasks as needed to support the team and ensure efficient case management.
What You Bring
Education:
Completion of a Paralegal Certificate program approved by the American Bar Association (ABA) or a bachelors degree in paralegal studies or a related field.
Certification from a national paralegal organization with continuing legal education is a plus.
Experience:
At least two years of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role with preference for bankruptcy collections or litigation experience.
Familiarity with court rules legal documents and procedures specific to bankruptcy and collections is highly preferred.

TechSavvy: Proficiency in Orion NetDocs and legal research platforms like Westlaw or LexisNexis.

Professional Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for drafting documents and providing updates.
SelfStarter: Proactive and capable of working independently without constant supervision.

Office Environment: Standard office setting with occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs. and filing from shelves up to 8 feet high.
