Job Description
Malvern College Qingdao (MCQ) established in 2012 currently enrolls over 1000 students making it the international school in Shandong Province with the highest number of foreign teachers the highest studenttoteacher ratio and the largest student population. MCQ has successfully placed graduates in prestigious institutions such as Oxford University Cambridge University Massachusetts Institute of Technology Johns Hopkins University Cornell University St. Louis Washington University Berkeley University New York University University of Toronto McGill University London College of Art Rhode Island School of Design and other worldfamous schools.
We are looking for AP subject teachers including AP Math/Physics/Biology/Chemistry/psychology teachers.
Teachers Job Description (not an exclusive list)
- Responsible for teaching their subject to pupils in the age 12 to 18.
- Reporting to Head of Department.
- Contributing to the development of the departments curriculum and resources.
- Setting and marking homework and tests in accordance with School and departmental policies
- Consistent and effective use of appropriate strategies for teaching and class room management.
- Consistently and effectively setting performance target for students.
- Contributing to the improvement and implementation of the assessment for learning and assessment of learning strategies within the department.
- Two evenings on duty for study hall per week.
- Six to Eight Sunday day duties in a year.
- Participation in extracurricular activities essential
Requirements
Personal Specification:
- Masters degree in relevant subject with teaching qualification.
- Native English speakers or Chinese.
- Minimum of 35 years relevant teaching AP Subject experience essential.
- Experience of teaching second language speakers an advantage.
- Boarding school experience also an advantage.
A genuine interest in teaching and professional development Open-minded, patient, an adventurous spirit and professional flexibility 3 years or* above relevant teaching experiences Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Native English speaker TEFL, CELTA, or TESOL certificate Teachers license obtained from English native speaking countries is preferred Teaching experiences in English native speaking countries is preferred
