Job Description
As the Sr. FullStack Developer (Ecommerce) of a new initiative at Bezos Academy you will build an endtoend technology solution that serves educational products for children and families. You are a handson resultsdriven developer who will play a pivotal role in establishing our Ecommerce technology foundation with a small team of founders. Your work will combine digital experiences for families with analog activities for children. With a passion for software development craft and a missiondriven mindset you will expand access to early childhood development programs for families of all kinds.
You have a track record of delivering endtoend technology solutions that solve human problems. You work resourcefully building and integrating across SaaS and PaaS products using technology for real world impact despite constraints on time and resources. You have successfully built and operated multiple B2C web applications in collaboration with product managers designers and business stakeholders. You are a developer with a customer mindset preferring working demos over perfect plans. You are adept at working from scratch resolving ambiguity and iterating your way to customer love. You have handson experience across the entire web application stack including frontend development customer data management customer identity and access management API development database development and endtoend operations. You know exceptional work when you see it and you instill this passion in others.
You will find yourself in a fastpaced startup environment where you will focus on inventing measuring and iterating for children. You are equally motivated by great products and great impact deeply inspired by our focus on expanding access to quality early childhood education and experiences.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- This is a fulltime benefitseligible salaried position.
- The full salary range for this position in Seattle WA is $157000 $251000 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for employees who have been in the role for multiple years and have demonstrated strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by qualifications and prior experience.
- This role includes 15 paid days of vacation 4 days of paid personal time off 7 paid days of sick (care) time 9 paid holidays 5 paid days off for an organizationwide winter break and additional time off if required by applicable law. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Eight or more years of relevant experience in fullstack software engineering
- Proven track record of building scalable web applications by deploying React apps on AWS infrastructure
- Proficiency with HTML CSS JavaScript TypeScript and NodeJS
- Experience developing REST or GraphQL APIs and integrating with thirdparty SaaS/PaaS
- Proficiency working with both nonrelational and relational databases
- Experience with DevOps Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and test automation
- Experience with oncall support of production systems
- Ability to speak read and write English fluently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS technology like AWS Lambda Amazon API Gateway Amazon EventBridge Amazon SQS Amazon RDS Amazon DynamoDB Amazon S3 AWS CDK and Amazon CloudWatch
- Experience implementing microservices and serverless architecture
- Familiarity with handling personally identifiable information (PII)
- Understanding of secure applications and APIs
- Experience with database technology like PostgreSQL and Amazon DynamoDB
