Responsibilities
Intrepid Direct is looking for a motivated Quality Engineer Intern to join our team for a 12week period. This role will directly contribute to our manual and automation testing initiatives. As part of this internship you will be paired up with a quality engineer to learn how to review requirements write test cases validate code changes learn automation framework create/update automation scripts and conduct regression testing. Youll participate in daily standup with the team.
Key functions include but are not limited
- Learn the ins and outs of a quality engineer.
- Learn how to use Postman for API testing.
- Learn how to use Sql queries and Azure Data Studio for data needs or validating data accuracy.
- Convert manual test cases to automated tests using Playwright.
- Execute test scripts from our automated smoke and regression test suites.
- Participate in refinement and planning meetings to understand upcoming changes and the impacts they may have on existing test cases.
- Execute manual scripts and document the results accurately.
- Develop manual test cases from acceptance criteria.
- Learn to investigate isolate and track technical issues using automated and manual testing methodologies.
- Follow existing documented processes and look for more efficient ways to accomplish desired outcomes.
- Ability to concisely document and explain effects found.
- Work with other team members to report and escalate blockers.
- Participate in test case peer reviews.
- Participate in automation scripts code reviews.
- Assumes other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Computer Science or related field.
- Familiarity with software development or software testing concepts.
- General understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology.
- Experience with Git (or similar version control system).
- Detailoriented solid organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Strong written visual and verbal communication skills.
- Teamoriented with a strong willingness to serve others in an agile startup environment.
- Flexible in assuming new responsibilities as they arise.
- Knowledge of automation test framework.
- Knowledge of software testing methods.
- Intermediate skills in JAVA JavaScript Python and other objectoriented programming languages.
- Intermediate skill in SQL.
