JOB SUMMARY:

The Emerging Solutions Engineer supports the growth of Yokogawas Emerging Solutions business primarily focused on IIoT Predictive Maintenance Solutions and Distributed Temperature Sensing Solutions. The Emerging Solutions Engineer will become a subject matter expert engaging in presales postsales and everything in between for projects supporting the Emerging Solutions department. Projects range from repeatable solutions to complex customized fully engineered designs to meet each customers unique needs. The Emerging Solutions Engineer should be curious about new technology and have a passion for creative problem solving.

Responsibilities and results:

• Design engineered solutions to solve unique customer problems utilizing Yokogawa and 3rd party products as a complete solution. Presales proposal design manufacturing support provisioning commissioning and postsales work as required
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise during customer facing meetings when additional technical consultation is required to win a project.
• Perform customer site walkdowns to understand painpoints and requirements perform site surveys and develop proposals that meet customers needs
• Customize HMIs dashboards and other interface tools to help customers visualize data.
• Provision wireless sensors gateways access points and other system components.
• Integrate Yokogawa products into 3rd party systems and solutions.
• Gather complex customer requirements and design solutions that can be repeatable and beneficial to other customers and industries.
• Partner with Product Management Business Development Manufacturing and Sales to support the technical engineering and implementation aspects of the Emerging Solutions business.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Expected travel 10 or about 2 to 3 trips per quarter.

Education and experience

• Bachelors degree in engineering or similar technical field. Equivalent industry experience may be substituted for education requirements.
• Experience with Autocad or other 2D and 3D design tools
• Experience with wireless technologies is a plus.
• Experience with industrial networking protocols is a plus.
