Summary of responsibilities:

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is the primary quality interface between Raytheons organization and the external supply base. The SQE provides both communication of requirements and performance feedback to the supplier as well as being a conduit for Quality information back to internal functions within Raytheon. The SQEs role includes of Supplier Assessments problem resolution meeting facilitation and continuous improvement activities through APQP supplier engagements. In addition the SQE is a key player in the facilitation and management of Supplier risk mitigation problem resolution and development. The SQE represents Raytheon professionally and supports RTX Vision Values Strategy and Goals as our Quality representative in the supply base.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to subtier suppliers through PO requirements Quality Notes and statement of works.
  • Interpret quality requirements (QNotes) and make decisions on QNote application to procured production parts.
  • Participate in design reviews process change reviews qualification test reviews as well as Test Equipment verification and validation
  • Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/lean methodologies.
  • Facilitate Program Reviews Supplier Reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Facilitate closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process quality
  • Application of APQP processes related to supplier performance and implementation of necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.
  • Represent quality during review boards covering changes to supplier designs process changes qualification tests and procedure reviews.
  • Perform reviews of supplier manufacturing instructions and processes to mitigate escape risk
  • Review Internal TDP change requests Supplier change requests and Supplier Statements of Work
  • Ability to travel as required by program needs. Can anticipate some travel (Up to 25 to support supplier assessments audits reviews.
  • The PSQE represents Raytheon professionally and supports RTX Vision Values Strategy and Goals as our Quality representative.

What You Will Learn:

Managing a complex supplier base in variety of fields (Electrical Mechanical energetic etc.

Expanding on APQP knowledge and applied experience

Developing key relationships with value streams our customers and supply base

Qualifications you must have:

Typically requires a Bachelors Degree inScience Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) and 5 years experience in Quality Engineering Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.

Experience working with Aerospace or commercial equivalent Preventative tools.

Previous experience conducting RCCA an implementing Root Cause Corrective Action processes changes

Previous Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following standards: ISO 9001 AS9100 or AS9145.

Experience with drawing interpretation and hardware inspection techniques

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

Six Sigma Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE CQM/OE CSQE CQA CRE etc..

Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers / customers.

Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements build integration test and delivery.

Experience in engineering development project planning and collaborating remotely.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems AS9145 Requirements for APQP & PPAP and FAI Standard AS9102.

Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and selfmanaged technical contributor.

Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling prioritizing coaching and process .

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
