Looking to take the next step in your career Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivatedProject Systems Managerto join the Digital group in Mississauga.
The Project Systems Manager (PSM) assists the Project Manager and Engineering Manager on projects to interact with client BIM manager / Information manager and/or Hatchs Information Manager if one is assigned. The PSM understands the clients system requirements and plans and promotes the best data and deliverables exchange ensuring a smooth and costeffective handover of the projects digital assets. The PSM is also responsible for implementing project information management supporting the availability and quality of information throughout the project lifecycle. PSM Supports Information Management strategy develops data processes and workflows manages senior stakeholders and delivers effective solutions to meet contract and schedule requirements. The PSM works directly with the Information Manager Project Leads and is an interface to the Hatch Digital support team. The PSM also works directly with the Client and Joint Venture partners (as required) to ensure effective setup and operation of project systems. Through interactions with clients the PSM will also identify areas where Hatch can offer improved solutions and implementations of client improved systems fostering new business by acting like owners.
This is an excellent opportunity to advance your project management communication and technical skills in a fastpaced project setting.The Project systems manager liases with Hatchs IT services departments to coordinate and deliver the IT systems required to support the project.
As the successful candidate you will:
- Develops and implements IM plans procedures and specifications to support standard systems and information management processes across the project.
- Communicates and promotes IM strategy to the project provides training in IM processes and technology.
- Compliance to Hatch global standards and procedures relating to Hatch Digital technologies.
- Identification setup implementation and administration of project systems IT infrastructure telecommunications and project systems to support project and/or construction site activities.
- Management of Information Management budget and resources including preparation and ongoing management of estimates and plans. Support the cost recovery model for IT speciality software and reimbursables with project leadership.
- Responsible for data flows and work processes to enable data centric project delivery managing consistency and quality across project deliverables including data documents engineering systems up to 7D (Hatchs BIM term for Handover). Implementation of project reporting for information quality completeness and maturity.
- Timely and effective communication with engineering and vendors in support of vendor data attribute collection.
- Effective and efficient management of information management services including allocation and management of document and tag numbering auditable transactions for document control and data management inside of project information systems.
- Coordination of sitebased information management to support construction and completion activities.
- Manage the handover and transition of the information asset to the client support project closeout and archiving activities in collaboration with the Information Manager on the Project.
- Development of a risk management strategy to identify & address risks to project outcomes resulting from systems data or IT infrastructure.
- Responsible for participating as appropriate in advancement of the IM Practice including assisting with training development transfer of knowledge and lessons learned conducting of Hatch Project Delivery Reviews IM/Digital Reviews and mentoring.
You bring to the role:
- Postsecondary Degree/Diploma in Computer Science Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Management or equivalent
- Experience managing at least one of the following IM project functions: data management document management or engineering systems
- Experience of data centric EPCM/BIM
- Experience of writing information management documentation including plans procedures specifications and work instructions
- Management of project teams including estimates and plans
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of project including project controls EPCM processes (Engineering Procurement/contracting and Construction Management) and the awareness of project information models & data handover concepts as they relate to meeting client requirements
- Knowledge of BIM including the following BIM standards and specifications: ISO19650 PAS11923
- Good to excellent understanding of data and document management and ability to write documents from strategy to work instruction levels
- Good to excellent understanding of engineering data flows project systems implementation / integration requirements
- Welldeveloped communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively bridge communication between technical teams and Project Management
- Understanding of project ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) infrastructure requirements including:
- Networking & telecommunications; Hardware Operating systems & Applications
- Information and systems security; Business risk & continuity planning
- The ability to define user requirements and transfer these requirements into working systems
- Ability to determine priorities make decisions implement management systems
- Ability to work with different groups (internal and external) to build consensus
- Strong customer focus and understanding of client value propositions
- Class library and handover specifications such as CIFHOS and ISO15926
- Understanding of 1D to 7D BIM concepts
- Strong commitment to safety principles
- Strong customer focus and understanding of client value propositions
- Selfmotivated and the ability to manage Hatch Digital team members to work towards project goals
- Selfmanaged with ability to work in an environment of multiple parallel projects and within a team environment
- Superior attention to detail problem solving and organizational skills
- Availability to travel when required
