Job Description
Overview
Luvata Appleton LLC is a Wisconsin based company with three locations in the Fox River Valley. We manufacture products for the copper alloy wire industry and have many customers including ones in the battery ammunition solar panel and electronic markets among others. Purpose: Prepare operations manuals and literature for standard work instructions to translate complex information to employees. Compile information and technical data write text material and organize illustrations to write content that meets the needs of the target audience.
Responsibilities
- Research outline write and edit new and existing content working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
- Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop organize and write procedure manuals technical specifications and process documentation.
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability with a consistency across all documentation.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for prioritization.
- Facilitate the review and verification of work instructions to ensure that improvements revisions or new developments are included.
- Interact with subject matter experts to develop completely new work instructions if/when necessary in order to support standardize work initiatives.
- Provide support for Luvata Appleton initiatives.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Preferred education generally equivalent to a bachelors degree in English Communications or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 24 years industry experience as an effective technical writer or equivalent experience editing and reorganizing work instructions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
- Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Requires good communication skills working with multidepartments.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- The employee is required to wear safety glasses and metatarsally guarded steeltoed shoes while working in production areas.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in proximity to fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in nonweather related wet humid conditions nonweather related extreme heat and in proximity to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may be loud when working in proximity to production equipment.
- The ability to travel by car between facilities is required
