- About the Role:
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Economics department ensuring the delivery of an outstanding and engaging curriculum across all key stages likely including ALevel.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies and resources to inspire students and promote a deep understanding of economic principles and their application to the real world.
- Lead support and mentor a team of Economics teachers fostering a collaborative and highachieving department.
- Oversee the planning delivery and assessment of the Economics curriculum ensuring high standards and excellent student outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning within the department implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the broader academic life of the school and potentially participate in relevant extracurricular activities.
- Manage departmental resources effectively.
- The role is parttime with the specific number of days/hours to be discussed.
- Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Economics.
- Significant experience teaching Economics at the secondary level with a proven track record of leadership and raising student achievement ideally including experience with ALevel.
- A deep understanding of the Economics curriculum and current pedagogical best practices.
- Excellent leadership communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- A passion for Economics and the ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues.
- Experience in curriculum development assessment and departmental management.
