Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking a Senior Manager of Planning and New Initiatives to support the organizations mission by managing projects aligned with the longterm strategic plan and support and guide new initiatives that have yet to be fully envisioned or enacted. This position will also manage a diverse portfolio of existing projects including new events crossdepartmental collaborations addressing key challenges for the agency and researching piloting and rolling out new initiatives and systems. This position will also help to secure additional government and foundation funding to help support and grow the agencys innovative service options.

SALARY: $80000 $90000 per year plus a comprehensive Benefit package...see information below.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the agencys history structure objectives programs and financial needs and demonstrate a passion for the agencys mission.
  • Conduct research and analyses working with agency leadership and staff to support new initiatives for the agency that align with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with management to develop coordinate pilot and implement special projects to help ensure that timelines and milestones are met.
  • Serve as Project Manager for specific initiatives including but not limited to new events and crossdepartmental collaborations such as the enterprisewide Manager Solutioning Initiative among others.
  • Work closely with AHRC NYC program departments to understand program needs and service gaps that can be supported through grant funding opportunities.
  • Research evaluate and recommend grant opportunities with a focus on government funding opportunities. Support the development of government grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing collaboration with the AHRC NYC Foundation to discuss funding needs and opportunities tracking government and private opportunities.
  • Assist in the tracking of funding contracts.
  • Oversee the coordination of responses to ad hoc requests from agency leadership collaborating with appropriate staff to ensure proper followup and perform additional and related duties as needed.
  • Promote the systemic values of diversity equity inclusion and accessibility in activities communications and supervisory responsibilities.
  • Use generosity to guide performance and interactions with all stakeholders continuously grow through a culture of curiosity creativity and optimism and promote that culture among all team members.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years experience required. Masters or PMP degree preferred.
  • Experience in project management and program evaluation.
  • Strong research and data analysis skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills as well as strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with all levels of department personnel and with colleagues within and external to the agency.
  • Technological skills to effectively navigate AHRC NYCs systems software and hardware.
  • Experience or demonstrated capacity to quickly utilize project management software.
  • Creative problemsolving skills and ability to handle urgent requests.
  • Possesses professional integrity independent thinking skills and commitment to objectivity.
