Sr Software Development Engineer FPDS

Are you interested in working with the latest technology in the cloud computing space The Amazon Foundational People Data Services (FPDS) organization is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join our team in building innovative cloud solutions that enable Amazons builders to address the needs of our global workforce of nearly 3 million Amazonians.

We are at a strategic inflection point as Amazon has outgrown the thirdparty HR systems that we once relied upon. We are developing highly reliable builder tools (powered by AWS) that make it possible for builders to create solutions that meet Amazons high bar while exceeding the speed of delivery that was only possible by way of thirdparty tools.

As a Senior SDE on our team your primary responsibility will be to design build and deliver software that enables other builders to deliver integrated solutions for customers of HR. You will have the opportunity to work closely with customers test prototypes and incorporate their feedback into our solutions.

Architect and build highly available software components in a distributed architecture

Define and drive software best practices including coding standards code reviews source control management agile development build processes and testing
Coach and mentor engineers on the team to foster a supportive culture of collaboration scalability and performance

About the team
The FPDS Smart Forms Builder Tools organizations primary mission is to enable the rapid development of secure scalable and seamless experiences and workflows for end users. We are committed to simplifying common patterns for our builder customers empowering them to devote more time to innovating on behalf of their customers.

7 years of noninternship professional software development experience
7 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
7 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse talented team

7 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
