Job Description
The Guidance Center (TGC) is a communitybased nonprofit agency serving as the local Community Mental Health Center for Atchison Jefferson and Leavenworth Counties in Kansas. We are dedicated to promoting recovery for children and adults with serious mental illness and substance abuse issues as well as fostering partnerships to support individuals and families. Through advocacy and education we work to eliminate the stigma and barriers preventing many from seeking treatment.
We are currently seeking individuals to work temporarily from May 27 to August 7 2025 in our Summer Psychosocial Program for Youth. The position entails working primarily Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 5:30 pm with flexibility based on client needs. Successful candidates must be available for inperson training before May 27.
Duties:
- Assist in facilitating successful group interactions among program participants
- Cofacilitate and assist Group Leader with presenting curriculum to clients monitor behavior and complete daily progress notes.
- Encourage and support clients engagement in program activities
- Support clients in problemsolving and effective social interactions
- Serve as Attendant on transportation routes for youth participating in the program
Pay Rate:
$19.69 to $22.10 per hour based on relevant experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of college coursework or relevant work experience in human services is required. Experience working with individuals in the community for at least six months is necessary with a preference for experience in mental health services.
