Job Description

Job Title: Trade Counter Assistant Building & Roofing Supplies
Location: High Wycombe HP12 / Permanent Position
Hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm (Monday to Friday) every other Saturday 7:30am to 10:30pm
Salary: Circa 32000 per year DOE

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customerfocused Trade Counter Assistant with experience or interest in building and roofing supplies to join our High Wycombe branch. If you enjoy providing exceptional customer service working with building materials and are motivated by sales growth wed love to hear from you!

Trade Counter Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver toptier customer service to trade professionals and walkin customers assisting with building and roofing supply needs.
  • Proactively upsell and recommend building and roofing products increasing sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with a professional team contributing to the growth and success of the branch by building strong customer relationships.
  • Support stock management programs to ensure adequate inventory levels of key building materials and roofing supplies.
  • Play a key role in maintaining health and safety practices within the branch to protect colleagues and customers.
  • Assist with stock management replenishment and receipting of goods for the building and roofing product ranges.
  • Participate in warehouse duties including handling deliveries organizing products and keeping the work area safe and tidy.

Trade Counter Assistant Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the building roofing or trade counter industry is preferred but we will consider other sectors.
  • Strong understanding of product mix and profitability with a focus on building and roofing materials.
  • Ability to manage stock levels including booking in new stock and ensuring availability of core product lines.
  • Proactive in building relationships with existing customers lapsed buyers and new prospects.
  • Adaptable team player with the ability to support stocktakes and ensure accurate inventory control.
  • A positive cando attitude with a passion for delivering great customer service.
