Job Description
A prestigious and forwardthinking school in Essex is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Sociology to join their successful and growing Sociology department from ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Sociology who is passionate about the subject and committed to delivering outstanding lessons that inspire students.
The successful Teacher of Sociology will be responsible for teaching Sociology at KS4 and KS5 ensuring students receive a highquality education that prepares them for their exams and future studies. The Sociology department benefits from excellent resources a supportive team and strong student engagement.
This role is suitable for both an experienced Teacher of Sociology looking for career progression and an ECT seeking a school with a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5 ensuring lessons are engaging and effective
- Plan and implement an innovative Sociology curriculum that meets exam board requirements
- Assess and monitor student progress in Sociology providing constructive feedback
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Sociology department to enhance learning outcomes
- Support students with their Sociology coursework and exam preparation
- Take part in school events including open evenings parents evenings and extracurricular Sociology clubs

Requirements
- A formal teaching qualification with QTS (PGCE or equivalent)
