Cloud Engineer (AWS)
Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a skilled professional to support cloud infrastructure initiatives within a collaborative and agile team environment. This role plays a key part in helping internal stakeholders onboard cloud solutions optimize cloud usage and ensure reliability and scalability in the delivery of cloud services. The successful candidate will contribute to internal partner engineering work and support the fulfillment of cloudrelated projects in a regulated securityconscious environment.

Responsibilities:
Support internal teams with onboarding to the cloud environment provisioning and role development.
Act as the liaison between application owners and cloud service providers managing tickets and critical accounts.
Provide consultative advice on AWS services best practices cost optimization and security.
Design implement and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate crossfunctionally to automate operations and ensure reliability.
Monitor performance costs and security within cloud environments and implement corrective actions.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including standups sprint planning and retrospectives.
Offer oncall support for escalated engineering issues as part of a rotation.
Maintain thorough documentation on architectures and procedures.
Stay informed on emerging technologies and assess their impact on cloud strategy.
What you will need to succeed:
University degree or college diploma in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience.
3 5 years of relevant experience in server administration cloud engineering or cloud solution management in an enterprise environment.
Cloud certification from a major cloud provider (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) is preferred.
Proven expertise with AWS services such as EC2 S3 RDS VPC CloudFormation and CloudWatch.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) including IAM roles permissions and cloud security policies.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines Terraform Jenkins and Ansible.
Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python Java Bash Perl or Ruby.
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with serverless computing (e.g. AWS Lambda Azure Functions) and eventdriven architecture.
Solid understanding of networking concepts including DNS TCP/IP firewalls and load balancers.
Experience with database services in cloud environments (e.g. RDS DynamoDB) is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch Splunk or Datadog.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the insurance or financial industry (e.g. GDPR PCIDSS) is an asset.
Experience working with multicloud or hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess technical issues and recommend solutions.
Excellent communication skills to build internal stakeholder confidence and deliver clear technical documentation.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Security Clearance: Enhanced Reliability Clearance (ERC) required.
