Job Description
Senior Data Engineer Cloud & Analytics
This is an open role for our client in the insurance industry supporting ongoing work across Finance and Accounting teams. The successful candidate will contribute to the evolution of a cloudbased data platform enable selfserve analytics and support the implementation of data governance strategies across portfolios. This role combines handson technical development with strategic input and team mentorship working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.
What is in it for you:
Salaried: $70 to $80 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $85 to $95 per hour.
12month contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
Hybrid role: 3 days per week in office.
Responsibilities:
Design build and optimize scalable data pipelines and platform capabilities using Snowflake Starburst Trino Apache NiFi and S3.
Guide and mentor data engineers and analysts to accelerate delivery and ensure technical excellence.
Drive implementation of dataasaproduct concepts enabling business user discovery through integrated systems.
Collaborate with internal technical leads and program managers to define backlogs align initiatives and support critical deliverables.
Support the creation of a modern cloudnative data infrastructure aligned with strategic goals.
Contribute to DevOps practices for efficient development workflows and faster timetomarket.
Work closely with enterprise teams to promote collaborative development through inner sourcing.
Ensure best practices in data governance and support enterprisewide reporting initiatives.
Prioritize and communicate work clearly in partnership with product owners and hiring managers.
What you will need to succeed:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
6 years of experience in datafocused roles with delivery of largescale endtoend initiatives.
4 years of handson experience building cloudnative applications data platforms and pipelines.
Strong proficiency with Snowflake Apache NiFi S3 Starburst Trino PowerBI Python and SQL.
Experience with advanced ETL development using Informatica PL/SQL and SQL Server.
Solid understanding of cloud services such as AWS (S3 EC2 EKS Glue SageMaker Athena Redshift) GCP and Azure.
Knowledge of data lake data warehouse and scalable pipeline design principles.
Programming experience in Python Java Scala and SQL.
Familiarity with API development and microservices architecture.
2 years of experience in asset management or capital markets (preferred but not required).
Strong communication decisionmaking and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to lead and influence technical teams in a collaborative environment.
