Transit Rail - Traction Power and Catenary Test Commissioning Engineer

AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Traction Power and Catenary Test & Commissioning Engineer for the MTA Purple Line project.  This position is located at the MTA facilities in Riverdale MD 

In this role you will provide owner oversight of the testing and commissioning of the traction power substations and overhead catenary system. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills high levels of discretion professionalism and the ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams. The position will be required to be fulltime in the project office in Riverdale MD. Must be flexible in working hours and available to work at night or during weekends as needed to oversee testing. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Review and approve traction power substation catenary and integration test procedures
• Oversee of onsite traction power substation catenary and integration testing 
• Review and approve traction power substation catenary and integration test reports
• Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals and objectives 
• Perform a variety of tasks related to traction power system testing and commissioning and systems integration 
• Assist in the planning coordination and of traction power testing and commissioning activities
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Communicate effectively with colleagues clients and stakeholders
• Adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and collaboration

Qualifications :

Minimum:

• BS Electrical Engineering or related field 
• 6 years of related experience in railway DC traction power system engineering verification & validation testing &commissioning or maintenance or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Experience in troubleshooting complex issues involving internal and external interfacing systems
• Proficiency in relevant software applications or tools

Preferred:

• Experience in overhead catenary systems is a plus
• Communication organizational and problemsolving skills 
• Proficiency in working independently and as part of a team 
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks or responsibilities
