Job Description

To provide clinical leadership with demonstrated clinical expertise in the nursing care of the critically ill adult. To work in partnership with the Patient Care Manager and the Professional Practice Clinician to create a positive safe evidencebased clinical practice environment for the care delivery team. To orchestrate and coordinate daily unit activity.


Qualifications :

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS required at time of hire
  • Current ACLS required at time of hire and ongoing
  • Critical Care Certificate required OR met according to CCSO standards 
  • 5 years of critical care experience preferred
  • Demonstrated previous experience in a CRN role preferred
  • Dedicated to promoting and supporting interdepartmental relationships within the organization such us Infection Control Occupational Health & Safety and CCOT
  • Knowledge skill and judgement to support care delivery of the Advanced Level 3 ICU patient population
  • Able to support and communicate effectively with the Physicians and Allied team members
  • Exceptional ability to engage staff and promote team building
  • Able to lead and demonstrate LEAN philosophy through process improvement initiatives
  • Dedication to attend meetings within the medicine and critical care program
  • Able to demonstrate reflective practice and opportunities for selfimprovement
  • Demonstrate a willingness to respond to incivility within the workplace and act on any potential codes of conduct or violence in the workplace
  • Positive proactive perspective with a commitment to family/patient centered care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence with strong clinical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct support instruct and lead others.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable to fluid working environment and able to work well under stress.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Understands dynamics of change and is able to act as a change agent.
  • Knowledge of hospital Policies and Procedures and Standards of Care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability at conflict prevention and resolution
  • Selfdirected learner with a history of ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge of hospital systems and fiscal management an asset
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles an asset
  • Good employment and attendance record.
  • Commitment to ongoing quality improvement.


Additional Information :

Hours: Monday to Sunday 12 hour days (Hours subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $43.25 to $60.15 per hour
