About the role

This exciting opportunity for a Childrens Services Manager is responsible for managing a cluster of childrens services which may include OOHC in home supports and NDIS funded supports. They lead a team of Childrens Services Leaders and Support Workers. This critical role is responsible for the delivery of outcomes for children and young people and for the effective management and leadership of services addition the role will support the expansion of services provided in the region. They are expected to spend time within the services under their management ensuring child trauma informed support is provided in a highquality homelike environment.

Key Focus Areas

  • A strong desire to deliver high quality disability services focused on excellent customer service and growth.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human rights trauma informed principles and approaches including positive behaviour support
  • Strong leadership capability with the proven ability to coach mentor and develop high performing teams through authentic engagement.
  • Strong commitment to and understanding of governance and compliance with standards and child protection legislation as it relates to nonfamily based care and disability services.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to effectively coordinate and own management outputs (including budgets and rosters) and be accountable for delivering against organisational strategies targets and priorities

Skills and experience

  • Minimum five years experience in a middle management role or suitably qualified disability services professional with minimum five years direct experience in disability services.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s i.e. Child Youth & Family/ Community Services or equivalent/higher
  • A willingness and commitment to exercise selfreflection and to improve as a leader. Capacity to lead the local implementation of change and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication with welldeveloped written verbal and listening skills with the confidence and capability to use a range of systems and technology.

  • Current Qld Drivers License
  • willingness to travel between Townsville and Mackay
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Minimum Diploma Child Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent
