Job Title: Housing Navigator
FLSA Status: Full Time nonexempt

Function: Supportindividualsexperiencing homelessness by helpingthem become permanently housed.Core activities will include ongoing case management services for participatingguestswhich includes assessment identifying andaddressingbarriersreferrals toappropriateSalvation Army andcommunity resources and database recording of all activities. The positionwillalsoliaise withlandlordsand permanentsupportive housing agencies in the Denver Metro community on behalf of participatingguests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualification and Education Requirements
Masters degree in social work (MSW) preferred. Bachelors degree required. Two years work experience with homeless populations in crisis. Experience with providing case management required.
Must have some experience working with poor and culturally diverse populations. The individual must have/obtain current certification in first aid and CPR skills or obtain them within six months of hire. The individual should have crisis intervention and nonviolent mediation skills.
Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal ability to make public presentations ability to manage databases administer complex systems and follow program policies. Ability to oversee program budget. Ability to discern appropriate approaches and solutions in highly complex cases.
Softwarerelated skills:
Microsoft Word and Excel and email required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to maneuver and Ability to remain in a stationary position squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp push pull and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
