Position Title: Foundations of Healthcare Clinical Lab Assistant
Department: WITHealth Care Technology
Advertised Pay: RN: $30/hr LPN: $25/hr
Campus Location:Washburn Tech

Clinical Lab Assistants direct guide and evaluate students in the Certified Nurse Aid program at Washburn University Institute of Technology (Washburn Tech) in the clinical and laboratory setting. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Essential Functions:
Work closely with the C.N.A. class instructor regarding clinical rotations and skill lab checkoffs.
Prepare for and attend all designated clinical sessions.
Enforce policies for safety and use of personal protective equipment for all individuals in the clinical/lab environment.
Evaluate student work and provide feedback to students.
Act in a manner that promotes collegial relationships and shows respect for students staff and colleagues.
Maintain and/or advance training in industryrecognized certifications.
Stay abreast of innovations and developments in the professional field.
Adhere to University policies and perform additional jobrelated duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
Two years of verifiable fulltime experience in clinical practice as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
An unencumbered Kansas nursing license.
A minimum of 1750 hours of longterm care experience as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
An instructor number for CNA/CMA courses or the ability to gain approval as a CNA/CMA instructor per criteria established through the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS).
This position is designated a safety sensitive position and will be required to undergo drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in nursing with longterm care experience.
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
Approved HHA instructor number from KDADS.
