Job Description
The Role:
We are looking fora Senior Technical Business Analyst (Sr. Technical BA) to play a critical role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders product owners developers data engineers UX designers and QA teams in a complex datadriven software project.
This role ensures the development team has the clarity documentation and support they need to build product features efficiently while enabling the Product Owner to focus on strategic priorities. You will act as a proxy for the Product Owner ensuring smooth daytoday operations and alignment within the Scrum team.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical acumen experience in data integration and dashboard/reporting projects and the ability to operate comfortably across business and technical domains.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Discovery and Analysis:
Collaborate with the Product Owner and stakeholders to gather analyze and refine detailed business and technical requirements.
Translate highlevel business objectives into clear actionable user stories technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
Analyze and document functional and nonfunctional requirements including system integration points data flow and performance needs.
Work closely with developers data engineers and visualization experts to ensure feasibility and clarity of the requirements.
Proxy for the Product Owner:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the development team when the Product Owner is unavailable.
Proactively clarify business logic answer technical questions and make daytoday decisions to unblock the team.
Ensure the team understands priorities business value and the why behind features and user stories.
Product Backlog Management:
Assist the Product Owner in building refining and prioritizing the product backlog.
Create detailed and wellstructured user stories and tickets in Jira including acceptance criteria.
Ensure the backlog is always groomed organized and ready for sprint planning.
Collaborate with the QA team to confirm stories are testable and ready for development.
Facilitation of Developer and Technical Team Interaction:
Act as the bridge between technical and business teams to resolve ambiguities and provide necessary context.
Facilitate backlog grooming sessions as needed.
Proactively identify gaps risks and dependencies escalating or resolving them quickly.
Collaborate with data engineers and visualization experts to align data models APIs and reporting requirements.
Documentation:
Produce and maintain technical specifications user interaction flows wireframes and data flow diagrams.
Document complex data and system integrations to ensure alignment between data sources API layers and the front end.
Ensure clear traceability from business requirements to technical implementation.
Maintain uptodate documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
Support During Development and Testing:
Collaborate with QA testers (manual and automation) to validate that features meet defined acceptance criteria.
Participate in test case reviews defect triage and UAT to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables.
Provide ongoing support and feedback during demos sprint reviews and retrospective sessions.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Conduct stakeholder interviews workshops and demos to ensure alignment between business needs and technical feasibility.
Communicate complex technical topics effectively to nontechnical audiences and vice versa.
Ensure consistent feedback loops between developers stakeholders and product leadership.
Requirements:
5 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in a software development environment.
Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Technical knowledge of APIs data models cloud data systems and system integrations.
Prior experience with dashboard/reporting projects data visualization or dataheavy platforms is highly preferred.
Proficiency with Jira Confluence Figma wireframing tools and data flow diagramming.
Ability to work with developers architects data engineers UX/UI and QA professionals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics for stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Data Lakehouses Cloud Platforms (AWS Azure GCP) or largescale data projects.
Knowledge of data visualization tools business intelligence or SaaS applications.
Familiarity with QA processes test case writing and supporting automation frameworks.
Background in datadriven decisionmaking or product management a plus.
