Entry Level Structural Engineering is an entry level position in Wight & Companys Structural Engineering group. We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented structural engineering professionals with 0 1 years of experience to contribute to our diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in engineering principles and a passion for technical design. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers gaining handson experience in all phases of project development.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Perform structural engineering analysis design and calculations for vertical building structures under the direct supervision of a senior engineer.
- Analysis and design of structural steel reinforced concrete and masonry framing systems for vertical building structures.
- Utilization of latest structural engineering analysis and design software.
- Utilization of Autodesk Revit Structure building information modeling (BIM) software.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation including BIM models and drawings under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct research on materials products building codes systems and sustainable design practices to inform project decisions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including architecture sustainability construction and other consultants to support the integrated delivery of projects.
- Perform onsite surveys of existing building conditions and documenting field measurements and observations.
- Perform construction phase activities including submittal review and construction site observations.
- Participate in crossdiscipline career development. Engage in continuous learning opportunities attend industry events and participate in internal training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from ABET accredited structural engineering program. Master of Science (MS) degree from ABET accredited structural engineering program a plus.
- Experience: 01 years of structural engineering experience in an engineering firm with exposure to analysis design and documentation for building projects a plus. Internship in an engineering firm a plus.
- Licensing and Certification: Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E. exam and EIT Certification a plus.
- Skills: critical thinking analytical problemsolving skills technical expertise effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion: A genuine interest in integrated design and delivery with a commitment to professional growth and development.
Salary Range: $65000$75000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
