Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Parking Design Engineer on a 6month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 288.42 359.86 per day
Summary:
As a Design Engineer (Parking) you will play a crucial role in delivering improvements whilst collaborating with other departments to ensure maximum efficiencies become a subject matter expert and provide support and direction to support the team. Your work will directly impact to optimised functioning of the team contributing to ensuring that Greenwich parking operates efficiently and enhancing our financial position. You will liaise with elected members members of the public key stakeholders businesses internal colleagues and outsourced service providers regularly and will need to portray professional competence and a listening attitude.
Responsibilities:
- To assist in gathering data (site surveys condition data traffic movements) necessary for the design of controlled parking zones other minor traffic schemes and the management of traffic within the borough.
- To assist in the detailed design including the preparation of drawings interdepartment communication and consultation document creation on parking schemes
- To assist in the preparations of estimates of cost relating to parking schemes.
- To inspect work by contractors and statutory undertakers checking for quality and adherence to work order along with quantity of materials as per specification.
- Liaise with traffic team to execute final plan and contractors/statutory representatives on site.
