QA/QC Engineer Job Description
A Zeeco Quality Engineer is an Engineer who helps identify and solve everyday process problems. Quality Engineers ensure the quality standards for both the customer and Zeeco are being met. Quality Engineers prioritize quality over schedule and work closely with supply chain and inspectors to ensure fabrication is performed in accordance with Zeecos high quality standards. Quality Engineers should be able to carry 70100 projects over the course of the year with many being at the same time. Quality Engineers should be on time well organized and have a great ability to multitask.
- A degree in Engineering or related Discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in pipe or vessel fabrication
- Able to perform audits and assess Quality Management System
- Have Competency in Inspection Procedures
- Have knowledge of Industrial Codes and Standards (ASME ASTM API AWS ISO etc)
- Competent with Computers and Phones
- Advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Word Excel Powerpoint etc.
- Excellent Typing skills
- Read and write technical reports
- Able to Read and Understand Engineering Drawings
- Ability to review and approve NDE Procedures per applicable code.
- Ability to review and approve Welding Procedures per applicable code.
- Ability to review and interpret customer specifications.
- Ability to identify and disposition NonConformances.
- Ability to prepare a Project Quality Plan
- Being able to identify and carryout a Punch list for Fabrication
- Work Closely with Product Groups to carry out successful project
- Ability to be on Time.
- Must be able to come in early stay late or attend meetings overnight.
- Ability to Travel Locally and Abroad.
- Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans
- Be able to provide clear and concise direction
- Able to communicate well with colleagues and customers
- Able to review and interpret quality records and reports and determine the compliance with requirements
- Have a knowledge on calibration of equipment and how to use measuring equipment
- Ability to Plan and Schedule
- Able to perform inspections
- Able to use inspection tools (Micrometers Dial Calipers Levels Tape Measures etc.
- Ability to asses cost of inspections and testing
- Familiar with NDE Procedures and Test
- Familiar with Fabrication process for combustion equipment and/or piping vessels etc.
- Familiar with Welding
- Organized and able to meet deadlines
- Must be able to MultiTask
- Must be able to prioritize
- Must be able to lead PreInspection and other customer meetings
- Be a Team Player
- Ability to chair a Corrective Action Team or Process Improvement Team
- Has Good Judgement
- Must be able to communicate and support Supply Chain personnel
- Must be able to communicate and support Engineering
- Must be able to communicate and support Drafting
- Must be able to communicate and support Management
- Ability to communicate and support global locations
- Ability to communicate and support SubContractors
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to present to groups
- Be able to lift 25 lbs minimum.
