Being a Behavior Support Specialist at Devereux PA Childrens Services has its Advantages
You will work directly with our Day Academy students with frequent behaviors in a school setting that is located in Landenberg PA.
Everyday as a Behavior Support Specialist you will:
- Provide behavior management support to individuals in a school setting.
- Carry out specific interventions that are developed by the Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Transfer skills to individuals natural support in the least restrictive environment.
- Support teachers in managing student behavior
You will be offered:
- Payrate: $22.50 $25.65 /Hr. (based upon experience)
- Shift: MondayFriday 8am4pm 52 week year round position)

Devereux Day Academy is a private academic school program located in Landenberg PA. Devereux Day Academy is licensed to serve students in grades K12 who have been identified with the following primary disabilities: Emotional Disturbance behavioral and cognitive differences. The Devereux Day Academy is also able to help children with autism intellectual disabilities and speech and language impairments. The core curriculum has been aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards as well as the curricula of our partner school districts. This innovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. The goal of the curriculum is to provide students with learning experiences that foster increased engagement and success through differentiated instruction evidencebased instructional strategies and rigorous learning expectations. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals. A multidisciplinary team including the individuals parent(s) or guardian regularly reviews the plan to discuss challenges progress and adjustments to goals as appropriate. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of ProgramWide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PWPBIS) a programwide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors and prevents negative behaviors to create safe supportive living environments.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Registered Behavior Technician certification or RBT eligible; required. Bachelors degree in a human service field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of work experience with children or adolescents with behavior challenges preferred.
