Summary
The Cultural Resource Consultant is minimally responsible for managing the cultural resource components of projects that have been assigned to them from creation to completion. This includes conducting preliminary research on projects overseeing fieldwork and lab work and producing final cultural resource reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be responsible for the daily management of cultural resource (CR) tasks and projects with Principal Investigator and multidisciplinary Project Manager oversight
Fieldwork and supervision of junior field personnel
Writing reports completing forms contributing to CR sections of environmental documents assisting with project proposals
Training of temporary and permanent staff representing UES CR at meetings conferences or events
Understands and interpret contracts and invoices.
Handles special client requests regarding typing and billing
Follows safety procedures
Desire and aptitude for growth
Required Qualifications:
Valid Florida Drivers License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Drivers License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)
Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Floridas Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
One to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and write including interpreting documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues supervisors and customers/clients.
Two years of fulltime professional experience or equivalent specialized training in cultural resource management
One year of field and analytic experience in the archaeology of Eastern U.S.
Comprehensive understanding of cultural field methods and the ability and enthusiasm to share this knowledge with less experienced archaeologists
Familiarity with the prehistory and history of the central Gulf Coast (preferred) or adjacent areas of the Eastern U.S.
Strong writing skills and the willingness to further develop those skills
Understanding of federal state and municipal preservation laws and regulations (particularly Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act) and how these are implemented at the project level
Leadership skills and a professional approachable and collaborative demeanor
Fluency in digital data collection and field data management
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and challenging physical environments
Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral and diagram form.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in anthropology
Interest in business development
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Lifting and/or occasionally moving up to thirtyfive pounds can be expected with or without reasonable accommodation.
